Adventures in baby-fooding

Here is our first adventure into baby-fooding for JMC, butternut squash. A special thanks goes to my sweet friend from work, Nicole, for giving us the squash from her family garden.

She doesn't really understand what's going on. She just knows her parents insist upon taking pictures of her with vegetables.

Semi-curious

Now she is really interested.

Very excited to get have this stuff cooked up and ready to be blended.

Judith Marie refused to have her photo taken with the secret ingredient, as a form of protest. Note: babies do not understand delayed gratification. Obtaining this (and in her presence, nonetheless) was seen as an act of betrayal.
"You must know... surely, you must know it was all for you..."

And voila! The finished product. We are excited to let JMC try one out in about a week. It's crazy to think that little Miss is going to be six months old!!

We'll keep you posted on how she likes it.

Big Birthday

We recently celebrated Chad Michael's 30th birthday. We had delicious spaghetti and homemade meatballs and German chocolate cake for dessert. Yum. This year Chad was sweet enough to help my mother and I with the 3+ hour-long cake endeavor. It made stressing over the cake a lot less stressful and the whole experience a lot more fun. And let's face it, he is a much better baker than I.

Unfortunately, I only managed to capture a couple lame pics on my iPhone. I hope that when its not just Chad and I we can be better about using that awesome camera I have. At any rate, I am glad I did capture two shots to help remember the day.

Ready to chow down after all his hard work
