Sweet One

Here's our little sweet one (about ten weeks ago):
Now about 27 weeks, she has been growing big and fat since then and makes it fun maneuvering crowded delivery rooms with my new job in the newborn nursery. She loves greeting the fresh deliveries with plenty of kicks and waves. She's a very friendly baby.

Pray for us. Gestational diabetes test tomorrow morning.

Big Birthday

We recently celebrated Chad Michael's 30th birthday. We had delicious spaghetti and homemade meatballs and German chocolate cake for dessert. Yum. This year Chad was sweet enough to help my mother and I with the 3+ hour-long cake endeavor. It made stressing over the cake a lot less stressful and the whole experience a lot more fun. And let's face it, he is a much better baker than I.

Unfortunately, I only managed to capture a couple lame pics on my iPhone. I hope that when its not just Chad and I we can be better about using that awesome camera I have. At any rate, I am glad I did capture two shots to help remember the day.

Ready to chow down after all his hard work

New pup in town

Grandma got a new dog! Grandma, mom, Chad, and I made the trip down to Dothan last week to pick up this sweet little girl.

Here she is in the car on the way home.

Her name is Pixie, and she might be the friendliest dog I've ever met. She loves people! If you try to get her to play with a toy, she gets bored quickly and prefers to follow you around and play with you instead.

Ohio Trip

For a WHOLE week this summer I got to be off of work to make a trip up to Ohio with my sweet husband. The highlight was definitely spending some time with our nephew Cuay (pronounced "coy"). Here are just a few pictures to give you small glimpse at the great time we had.

The boys walking "willow", Cuay's goat for the fair.

Here they are again at Old Man's Cave.

Skipping stones at OMC

Cuay at the end of our brief "hike" likely thinking, "Girls sure are weak," after I made my way slowly down (and up) the trails.

First Anniversary (late)

Here are some pictures from our first anniversary (late of course).

A few days before our actual anniversary, we ate a fancy dinner at the Warehouse Bistro in Opelika.
(a special shout-out to my sweet sister Cassie for letting me borrow her dress and for curling my hair)

On our actual anniversary we visited Grandpa at the cemetery. How awesome is that rainbow?

Chad was really proud of himself for this one.

That night we went to my parent's house and feasted on the top of our cake. It held up pretty well and tasted surprisingly good for being a year old.

A year of marriage hasn't made us any less goofy.

Proud.

Handy husband home updates

Check out the awesome cedar shutters and doors my husband built for our house...

This is the house that Jack built.

Actually, I don't think Jack built it, but here is the picture (excuse the iPhone quality) that I took of the house sometime early 2012 to show Chad hoping that I could entice him to move into the deep South, where the dirt (clay) is impossible, the summers nearly unbearable, just around the corner from my parents. Honestly, I don't think it was the picture that convinced him. Haha. It must have been The Lord.

In true feminine fashion, the minute I saw it I began looking for ways to change it. My sweet husband is very handy, so we have really enjoyed tackling projects in the inside, but we definitely enlisted the help of some professionals to install new windows, siding, soffit, columns, etc on the exterior. We are very pleased with the way it turned out.

(Sorry it's not quite from the same angle. The tree blocks the view pretty well when it's full of leaves.)

More pictures, of the interior, and other projects, to come soon.
