"I'd love to blog with you, but I have a previous commitment..."
Seriously? Who says that?
I'd love to blog with you, and I have a thousand previous commitments, but it's coming regardless. Like it or not.

So, this is my first "real" blog. Ha. That sounds a lot like what I claim about my first "real" kiss...Curious? Don't be. The story goes a little something like this, "See, my first kiss was technically my second becasue the first one wasn't "real" because I didn't kiss him back...blah...blah..."

Seriously, though, creepy memories aside, my first blog attempt came in my Professional Nursing Concepts Lab. After an enthralling lecture on technology we were given an assignment to answer 4 questions and post them on a blog. We were ensured that the assignments would be checked right away. I made it very clear (by yelling a lot and being the sole student to raise her hand in response to the question, "So who is actually going to ever blog in the future?") that this would be extremely important to me so that I could continue my blogging venture without my first post being on "Nursing Informatics Questions" and without our guest lecturer reading my subsequent posts. However, to make a long story short my efforts were thwarted by a combination of the slow grading faculty at AU School of Nursing (AUSON), my childish impatience, and ultimately my fear that someone, somewhere from AUSON would follow my blog. Seriously, though, that's probably a little pretentious to assume, yet, I abandoned amar-y-subir.blogspot.com in favor of the hipper, fresher, cynthiacarol.blogspot.com. Yes. That's what's on the birth certificate, driver's license, every classroom roll I've ever been on. "Cynthia"? Sure don't look like a Cynthia to me.

So, that's how we got here. The question is now, where do we go from here? The answer is, well, I'm not entirely sure. I've done quite a bit of research in preparation for this blog. Really, I have looked at about a dozen blogs, and all I've gained is a strong sense of intimidation. There are some awesome blogs out there. It's good to understand that, let's face it, this is probably not going to be one the best, but it's here, it's blog, get used to it. Who's hungry?

One note of warning before I go. In the words of Karol Wojtyla-

You are talking to a girl who absorbs more than you can give, perhaps, and herself gives most sparingly.

Good luck.
