Busy, busy college students. We can't ever seem to find even a second to sit still. I generally think my life is very busy, but this past week I set aside some time to enjoy the company of some great friends in the great outdoors. On two different occasions, Tuesday and Friday of last week, and after much indecision, the AU Davis Arboretum was chosen as the destination to fill my not-quite-entirely-full schedule. It is absolutely breathtaking in the beautiful southern Spring weather. I couldn't have dreamt of two more perfect days, or two more incredible friends to have spent them with.

Wondrous things happen at the Arboretum. Beautiful days, beautiful trees, beautiful flowers, and beautiful people seem to mysteriously find repose there. Something is very, very unusual in the way the trees move there, the way the scent of clover tickles the nose, and the way the sunshine graciously fills its visitors with youthful excitement and anticipation.

Tuesday and Friday were big days for me. I learned some important, albeit, cheesy lessons:
Sharing my heart after prolonged silence is hard, but I need to.
Honesty, even if it is truth about sadness, is a necessity.
Words are amazing in their power.
Poetry can cut a man in half or leave him thoroughly confused (thanks, Gerard Manley Hopkins).
There is hope in the form of blonde, brunette, and red-headed men who enjoy a beautiful day at the Arboretum.

Wonderful post! I love the pictures, especially the second one. WOW!!! Truly, this is a magical place.
What better place to spend time with friends? It's so beautiful. I have a lot of fond memories there, and now a new one!
Your blogs cut me in half, always. Keep using your words. I can't wait to see you this week!
