It's September (Part 1)

It's September, and I'm counting down the days until my article is published in the Villager newspaper. Each month since last September I hurriedly open up the Villager to find the AU School of Nursing article for that month.

To clarify, there was a small contest in my first semester of nursing school to write an article based on a month's particular topic. It was my first experience with APA writing, and the paper completely fails at capturing the APA style. However, it's a newspaper article, and this is Alabama, so I wanted to write something that would appeal to my audience. I think I might have achieved this goal.

So, I've been scoping out the other months' winners. I've looked at the article style, tone, and the newspaper's position choice. I'm hoping for the front page. (Really, this is not possible, but I'll be happy so long as my article is not split over two pages. That would be utter tragedy in my mind).

This is my first official publication, sans the Hippo Story I wrote in first grade that Mrs. Lankford bound together for us. I suppose that initial thrill of having my writing become real to the world outside of my paper and my head was all I needed to gain a real addiction to the feeling.

Blogging helps satiate my need for publication glory, but it leaves me wanting more. This month I am being published in the Auburn Villager newspaper, and the anticipation is nearly unbearable.

This seems bizarre, premature, but I just wanted to keep you "posted" on the latest news about the news. Now, you can share in my anticipation.
