Copy cat crafter

Inspired by sweet Natasha's creativity, I decided to make this cute gift for my friend Frances' birthday. You can find a detailed tutorial of the project here.

Here's the original:
I modified it a little by using a smaller bag and placing the doily in the center or the bag because Frances just seems like she'd appreciate symmetry more than the corner-peeking monogram of the original design.

This project really was a group effort. Natasha sparked my creativity from far off. Miss Tala let me use an extra bag she had, helped me to choose a color of paint (and loaned it to me), and acted as a general supervisor for the project. Certainly I could not have done it without the help of sweet Chad Michael who let me use an intense looking knife to make the "F" stencil and the encouragement of Father Baker who assured me that the printer did not single me out in its rebellion during the printing of my letters.

Well, I didn't take any pictures during the project, but here are a few pictures of the finished product.

The detail of the center design, flaws and all:

The bag all rolled up with a cute (recycled) ribbon, ready to be given:
Happy Birthday Frances! I hope you like it!

The flaws are perfect -- so colonial and thus appropriate for the recipient!

A beautiful gift of and from self.

LOVE IT! I like the centeredness too! And yours turned out way perfect! I hope all my mistakes helped you. :) But, isn't it so easy!?
