I used to keep my parents on pedestals because I thought I couldn't relate to them. However, I've discovered that they are not only parents, but they are my best friends. They have struggled with the things I struggle with now and have persevered. They understand what it is like to be unsure about the future. They know what it's like to move, to follow the Spirit's promptings without knowing where He leads. They know me, they love me, and they want me to be happy above any of their own interests for me. They provide so much encouragement and never cease to support me even if I have wild and crazy dreams. I love them a lot.
Challenge: Please tell your parents how much you love and care about them TODAY. Call, write, text, whatever. Pray for them. They are amazing, and they love you very much.

Ceecee.. thank you for posting this. I needed the encouragement. It seems counterintuitive, but I often have more trouble telling my parents that I love and appreciate them than telling my friends and acquaintances. Thanks for challenging me.
